Vista Clinical Privacy Policy

Once the testing process is complete, test results are provided only to the ordering physician through secure means of communication in order to guarantee your privacy.  Vista is also required by law to keep records on file for seven years. Vista Clinical does not interpret test results, diagnose or treat. If you are concerned or wish to discuss the results of your lab test, we encourage you to call your physician. If you have any questions regarding the details, application or components of a test, feel free to ask the staff person at the location where the test was ordered.

Vista Clinical follows all HIPAA guidelines and state regulations regarding distribution of test results. Patients may choose to have test results mailed, faxed or can come by to pick them up. Written consent is required to provide a copy of test results to any party other than the patient. All release of records must have a signed authorization from the consenting individual before results are released in any matter. Tests such as HIV are not allowed to be sent via e-mail or fax due to federal regulations and need to be picked up in person. Confidentiality and discretion are of the utmost importance to Vista Clinical.
